For the fourth consecutive year, the School of Dental Medicine’s Destination Dental School has received the Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from Insight Into Academia magazine, the largest and oldest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

The School of Dental Medicine will be featured, along with 57 other recipients, in the June 2025 issue of Insight Into Academia magazine.

“We are honored to be recognized with the Inspiring Programs in STEM Award for the fourth year in a row,” says Simone Duarte, associate dean for faculty affairs and equity, diversity and inclusion. “Our programs reflect the dental school’s core values and our commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all. We are incredibly proud of our students, faculty and staff for creating meaningful and enriching programs with meaningful impact.”

Insight Into Academia magazine selected the School of Dental Medicine for its distinctive program, a hybrid online and in-person summer pathway program for students interested in a career in dentistry. It provides participants with an understanding of the day-to-day life of a dentist and dental student through hands-on activities, research projects and networking opportunities, preparing students to successfully apply to dental school.
